Where the work began
Mityana is the first village Sparrow Village Initiatives serves.
Here, 114 orphaned children are being raised, protected, educated, and loved through the Homeland Orphanage. Many of these children have lost one or both parents. Somewere abandoned. Some were rescued from the streets. All of them now belong.
This is where Sparrow Village's story began, not with a program, but with a relationship.
Each child is known by name, deeply valued, and created with purpose.

Meet Pastor Sam
Pastor Sam knows the streets well, because he once lived on them.
As a former orphan himself, he understands fear, hunger, and uncertainty. Today, he leads the Homeland Orphanage with compassion, discipline, and unwavering love.
To these children, he is more than a director. He is family.
"I promised God that if I survived, I would go back for the children still waiting."
Daily Life at the Homeland
The homeland is more than a shelter. It is a place of routine, learning, and belonging.
The orphanage employs teachers, caregivers, and support staff who ensure the children receive the care they need each day.
This includes:
-
Daily meals and nutrition
-
Schooling and educational support
-
Clothing and basic necessities
-
Medical care when needed
-
Emotional and spiritual support
Everyday is built around consistency, safety, and care.

The Future: The Homeland Village
The children have been gifted more than three acres of land on a nearby mountain, a place of safety, growth, and long-term hope.

This land will become the Homeland Village, a permanent campus designed to support the children as they grow.
Plans for the village include:
-
Permanent children's homes
-
Classrooms and learning spaces
-
Gardens and farming areas
-
Safe outdoor play spaces
-
Access to clean water
This is more than construction. It is a legacy.
Why Mityana Matters
Sparrow Village believes lasting change begins with deep relationships and long-term commitment.
Mityana is not just a project. It is a community where children are known by name, where leaders are trusted, and where the work is built to last.
As Sparrow Village grows, additional villages will be added carefully and intentionally. But Mityana will always be the place where it began.
This work is guided by faith and rooted in the belief that every child has a future and purpose.
