Sparrow Village is South Africa's first AIDS village ...
Caring for Children left alone...

providing a multi-level empowering
entrepreneurial opportunity including:

a hospice for the dying, The Village design includes a list of programs to give patients jobs according to their strength and ability. These jobs can create income for the village in various creative and productive ways while giving patients value and purpose to their 'lost' lives.

a training center for the living,

Job training and skills taught to the homeless result in the creation and maintenance of these villages. Of great importance is the pride and self-esteem developed as these individuals create a place of dignity and care for the homeless and dying. After perfecting their skills they leave the village to become entrepreneurs, adding responsible businesses and families to the economy of the local communities.

and a base from which to educate the public about HIV/AIDS.

Sparrow Village promotes classes, training and seminars to ensure that businesses, schools and the local community have the opportunity to learn the facts about HIV/AIDS and how to prevent the spreading of the disease.

Each village will have a children's area (Sparrow's Nest), a training facility, classrooms for school programs, hospice area, chapel and grieving domes, kitchen areas, gardens and clusters of domes with a central living area.

Sparrow Village is an enabling concept that has caught the eye of many companies, businesses and service clubs. The need for a large scale caring facility like this one is overwhelming. On average, most households affected by illness or death cannot cope financially or emotionally with terminally ill relatives...which could mean that valued employees may become destitute and/or ill themselves.

Comprehensive and pro-active planning should take place to ensure that AIDS does not cause the untimely demise of many businesses already challenged in a difficult economic climate.

It is time to take ownership of this epidemic ...

Together we can make a difference.

" No One Should Die Alone"

We appreciate Prayers for those is our care.

Are we part of a civilized world ...

...if we can stand by and let these children die alone?

Thinking of these children and how to help - are prayers.
These are moments when, whatever you are doing, your heart is on its knees
